Midterm exams

Two midterm exams are held:
  • Midterm exam#1: Oct. 24 2013
  • 19:00-20:15 h for groups EM1, EM2, EM3, EM4, EM5, EM6, EM7, EM8 at Szent-Györgyi Albert Lecture Hall - EOK Building
  • 19:00-20:15 h for groups EM9, EM10, EM11, EM12, EM13, EM14, EM15, ED1, ED2, ED3, ED4 FMMed, FMDen at Issekutz Béla  (Brown) Lecture Hall - NET Bulding
  • Midterm exam#2: Nov 28 2013
  • 19:00-20:15 h for groups EM2, EM3, EM4, EM5, EM6, EM7 at Szent-Györgyi Albert Lecture Hall - EOK Building
  • 19:00-20:15 h for groups EM1, EM8, ED1, ED2 at Hevesy György Lecture Hall - EOK Building
  • 19:00-20:15 h for groups EM9, EM10, EM11, EM12, EM13, EM14, EM15, ED3, ED4 FMMed, FMDen at Issekutz Béla (Brown) Lecture Hall - NET Bulding

Topics for the 1st midterm examination
lectures of the first six weeks (Sep 9 – Oct 15) + seminars: gene therapy, lactic acidosis
Topics for the 2nd midterm examination
lectures of weeks 7-11 (October 17 – Nov 19) + seminars: fructose intolerance, McArdle disease, signaltransduction of insulin


No opportunity for the retake of failed midterm exams is given. Students who are ill at the time of the midterms can compensate the absence on Dec 5. 2013 at 19:00-20:15 at Szent-Györgyi Albert Lecture Hall of EOK Building after presenting medical certificate (see below).


25 multiple choice type questions and 2 biochemistry problem sets  (panels) are asked. Students may obtain 1 score for each correctly solved multiple choice questions. The both problem sets are graded by your laboratory teachers (grades: 1-5).  We calculate the sum of your scores and grades of your midterm examination and the tests are graded by the proposed limits of the table below:

1 fail

19-22

2 pass

3 satisfactory

27-30

4 good

31-35

5 excellent

The grade for the midterm exam is 1 (fail), if
  • the sum of the scores and the grades is 18, or less
  • each of the problems are graded by 1.
Deadline for the presentation of the medical certificate
  • 1st midterm examination: Oct 31, 2013
  • 2nd midterm examination: Dec 2, 2013
